Her mother was an German immigrants who arrived in the United States in 1958. After 10 years of combating breast cancer, Handler died in 1989. Handler was raised Reform Judaism by her father who was Jewish. Handler was born in a lovely neighborhood and she had a very happy childhood. Her move to Los Angeles when she was 19 years old, in order to pursue a career in acting. Handler had to turn into an actress to live. Handler decided to concentrate on stand-up after she turned 21 when she recognized her story telling abilities. Beginning Of career Handler started out her profession as part of the Oxygen network all-female cast for the hidden camera/comedy reality television series Girls Behaving Poorly.
